Typography : Teaching Aids
A personal project of 6 type based posters to be used as a hypothetical teaching aid for students of typography.
The main aim here was for these posters to convey quite complex ideas & terms in a clear and visually interesting way.
The main aim here was for these posters to convey quite complex ideas & terms in a clear and visually interesting way.
Wanting
to keep a uniformed feel, each poster is ordered sequentially with the
explanatory copy for each typographic term wrapped around the top of
each numeral.
Given the prints are numbered, the bottom half of
copy is dedicated to its designated number explaining it’s historical
origins, mathematical uses, religious connotations and any other social
relevance relating to that numeral.
The six typographic terms explained were:
- Parts of Type
- The Point System
- Type Emphasis
- Legibility & Readability
- Composition
- Type Mark-up & Correction
